I went to Calcutta in April 2015 to compose and record music for two student films in SRFTI and it was a good thing that I carried my camera along. Be there to believe it, everywhere you look, every frame is going to get you a good picture...people walking, cycling, parked bicycles, alleys, shattered old building, doors, windows, old men and women, people sleeping and people everywhere. Something about this city, the easygoing vibe makes you feel lazy, sweaty, nostalgic, and think...think of things deeply, observe every detail and that's what I did. Anyways, have a look at few pictures I took while I was there. Scroll away, slowly.

                                                Shoot going strong.

Raj's Spanish Cafe was an everyday thing to get our mind off work. We carried our guitars and sang with friendly new faces and the regulars (you know who you are). They serve great pizza and the old man behind the window says 'Hi' to you every time you visit. Just remember folks.... smile and wave.

My friend swims here. For real yo!

Buses, trams, big cars, bikes, rickshaw..everything fits and anything goes.

                     Awkward moment

Notice anything peculiar?

Penny and Malay.

The refreshing Bhaad/Kullad chai. I like the feeling when my lips touch the cup, and the chai tastes better too. When you're done, drop the cup down, hear it "Kkkrack" and go back to the place it came from.

We sipped our Bhaad Chai from here.

A badass studio in SRFTI.

The ultimate dojo where world problems were all being discussed and  solved. Even after a hundred years, the discussion is going strong and hopefully for eternity- @ Indian Coffee House.

Powerful picture ain't it? Respect to the mom. I hope these kids grow up to be very successful at whatever they do.

I saw her sitting by herself in the metro and I knew I would regret it if I didn't ask her for a picture. So I did my best in requesting her in the least creepy manner and she agreed to model for me. I think she carries every beautiful charm of Calcutta with her...that face, necklace, earring,,.. and ofcourse the bold big red Bindi.

Hope that was fun and I'd love to hear your thoughts on the pictures.
